Divergent Review

Hi guys, so I have been sick lately so I haven't written anything. I am new to this so here is my first book review. Please note that this review is mostly for people who have read the book because I am not going to say what the book is about. I'm just going to jump in, so you will have to have read the book to understand what i'm saying.
So I am doing my first book review on Divergent by Veronica Roth. So, here is how I herd about and bought Divergent. My friend, Emma Sugarbaker came over and we were really bored so I asked my daddy to drive us down to the little village in Montclair to go to the fantastic bookstore, A Great Good Place for Books to look around. Then we would get a drink at Starbucks. He was going down there anyway to get his mail at the PO Box. So after playing a little Guitar Hero we drove down there. While he was getting his mail we walked to the bookstore. We were looking around when Emma said, ''Did you read Matched?'' (by Alley Condie.) I said, ''Ya, it was okay, but it wasn't the very best book ever.'' The store lady herd us and walked over. I was worried I had offended her but she smiled and said, ''There is this new book out called Divergent. It's the kind of book for those who thought that Matched was kind of okay. It's Veronica Roth's first novel and people are saying it's better then The Hunger Games.'' Now when I herd that I thought, ''What? better than THE HUNGER GAMES?!!'' (by Susan Colin.) She handed me the book and me and Emma looked at each other.
(Before we had left the house I had showed Emma a book a relative had sent me called, Vampire Crush.I don't remember who wrote it and I can't check because Emma's still borrowing it.) I bought Divergent and we decided that I'll read Divergent, and when I'm done with it, Emma will read it and i'll read Vampire Crush.

I was sooooo, excited to read a book that is supposed to be ''better'' than The Hunger Games. I looked on YouTube to see the reviews other people have made about it and to see if everyone loved it. There was really only one bad kind of comment about it. It said, ''It was pretty good but it kind of dragged a little.'' Other than that, nothing. After reading most of Divergent I really wasn't seeing what the big fuss was about. It was good, but a little over rated, and certainly not better than The Hunger Games. I even typed in on YouTube, 'Divergent sucks,' to see if anyone felt that it was over rated to. Nothing came up.

Is it just me and that other, ''It kind of dragged person'' that feels this way? Anyway, thanks for reading. P.S. Sorry, this really wasn't a review. It' really about how I got it and how I feel about it, by.

  2. I also searched for 'divergent sucks" and found your blog! I saw that they're making a movie out of it and I was like WHAT? That book was just terrible!! If you go on goodreads for the book you will find quite a few negative reviews. I know people like to go along with each other and all but man, not everyone liked it and that's that. I found it to not make much sense, and the Dauntless acted like absolute idiots etc. I didn't care for the writing level, either.
